The Bolivar Soberano Cigar is one of the three Limited Editions release in 2018, together with the Romeo y Julieta Tacos and H. Upmann Propios. It characterizes by its Maduro dark wrapper and the unmistakable Bolivar flavor.
The Bolivar Soberano Cigar Limited Edition 2018 is a box of 10 with a length 140mm long and a ring gauge of 54.
Bolivar is a 1902 cigar in La Habana and it was name after Simon Bolivar “El libertador”. Its flavor and strength are remarkable, symbolizing the values of Simon Bolivar. The tobacco comes from the Vuelta Abajo region in Cuba and it is one of the most demanded cigars by cigar experts.
The Bolivar Soberano, which means sovereign or ruler, has a very dark brown wrapper, common shade for the Limited Edition cigars. It has a slightly rustic appearance, but it is not detrimental to the overall look of the cigar. In addition to the usual Bolivar band, the Soberano has a secondary 2018 Limited Edition band.
Before lighting up
The cold draw is good, with the right amount of resistance.
Once we put the foot to flame, the cigar releases generous amount of smoke. The first flavor that comes to the tongue and the nose is a pepper taste. It is quite powerful right from the get-go, it is not a light cigar for sure.
